EOC arrests key accused in multi-crore investment fraud case

The Economic Offences Cell (EOC) Police Station has arrested an alleged key accused in a multi-crore investment fraud case. The case has been registered under Sections 406, 409, 420 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, along with Sections 3 and 5 of the Goa Protection of Interests of Depositors (GPID) Act.

The company, its directors and agents are accused of cheating Goan residents of several crores of rupees. Police said the accused, Shivaji Walke (48), a chartered accountant and director of Bio Estate Solutions Pvt. Ltd., is a resident of Borivali (East), Mumbai.

He was traced using technical surveillance and human intelligence. He was arrested in Borivali and later brought to Goa. The court has remanded him to police custody for 14 days.

Earlier, four agents of the firm ” Subhash Dhuri, Digamber Bhatt, Sarika Pilankar and Soma Gaonkar ” were arrested in the case and are currently in judicial custody.
