A resident of Madel-Fatorda has questioned the continuation of the Old Market feast fair on the SGPDA grounds after the expiry of the seven day period.
Milagres Fernandes has further demanded to know whether the stalls erected on the PDA grounds had complied with the fire safety norms.
Addressing the media, Milagres demanded that the Margao Municipal Council as well as the SGPDA explain whether the continuation of the feast fair conform to the High Court order on holding fair at Margao.
He further demanded to know whether any of the authorities had conducted inspection of the giant wheel and other amusement items installed at the feast fair. "No doubt the feast fair generate revenue for the Civic body and the Planning body. But what about the safety of the people visiting the fair and the amusement items. Did any of the authorities inspect the items before giving the nod", he demanded to know.
