MARGAO:
In a bid to stop double parking of vehicles on the main road in front of the South Goa district hospital, the Fatorda Traffic Cell has now decided to depute personnel on the road to man traffic from morning to noon every day.
Fatorda Traffic Cell in-charge, PI Filomena Costa informed that the police will use the carrot and stick policy to stop parking of vehicles on the main road. “We have decided to post traffic personnel on the main road from 7 am to 1 pm every day to regulate traffic and to guide the motorists to the parking lot. We have also decided to penalise the traffic violators by levying fines,” he added.
The action by the traffic police comes in the wake of complaints that visitors park their vehicles on both sides of the main road passing in front of the South Goa district hospital.
PI Filomena Costa further informed that the drive will continue for some time to instil discipline amongst the road users.
