The Fatorda police have finally cracked a whip against a group of migrants, who had made the open space at the old market, their second home.
While complaints were pouring that the migrants pose a nuisance to the surroundings, police are believed to have initiated action since the children were involved in begging activities at the old market circle.
A Fatorda police team led by PI Ditendra Naik along with lady police officials descended on the old market area near the SGPDA property and detained the migrants. Four of the children who were found along with the parents were later sent to the Apna Ghar.
PI Naik informed that the adults were detained and taken to the police station to complete the formalities, while the children have been sent to the Apna Ghar.
“We had received several complaints that the migrants were involved in begging activities at the old market circle. They were also involved in occupying the open space at the old market,” he said.
