The four-day annual Zatrotsav of Shree Shantadurga Fatarpekarin will be held this year on December 27 at the Shantadurga Fatarpekarin Temple at Fatorpa.
Curtains will come down on the Zatra festival with the Maharath in the wee hours of December 31.Thousands of devotees throng Fatorpa for the annual Zatrotsav to seek the blessing of Shree Shantadurga Fatarpekarin.
The Temple Managing committee headed by President Dilkush Desai said all arrangements are being made to celebrate the Zatrotsav with religious fervour.
Addressing the media on Saturday ahead of the Zatrotsav, Dilkush said as per the advice of the law-enforcing agencies the Committee has put in place around 35 closed-circuit surveillance cameras, including 16 live cameras in and around the temple premises. Besides, Dilkush pointed out that the temple has made arrangement for back-up power generator to take care of any power outages. In addition, a water pump has been kept standby to provide water from the tank to the devotees and meet other requirements.
Cuncolim police station in-charge, Therron D’Costa informed that he will deploy around 200 police personnel in and around the temple complex for the smooth conduct of the festivities.
He said the police have already made recommendations to the temple committee to erect towers as well as install CCTV surveillance cameras around the complex.
Traffic cell in-charge, PI Suraj Samant, informed that an adequate number of traffic police personnel will be deployed during the four days of the festivities to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
