Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party's leader Vinod (Balu) Phadke on Thursday said he has organized an unique contest for women and youth on occasion of the Diwali festival in Hanuman Natyagraha, Mapusa, on October 21 at 5 pm.
For the women, it will be a contest for preparation of beaten rice (fau) and for the youth it will be a contest for creating the best Akash Kandil.
Phadke said while addressing a news conference in Mapusa that every woman participant will have to prepare two dishes of beaten rice (fau) one of which will have to be sweet and the other any other taste.
Similarly, Akash Kandil contest has been organised for youth below 25 years.
Phadke said both the contests are limited for only people from the Mapusa municipal area.
Cash prizes of Rs 10,000, 5,000, 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 will be given to first five winners in both the contests.
The prizes will be announced on the same evening at about 8 pm.
