In a raid at the house of one Ramlal at Ghotnecho wal , Colvale Bardez on Wednesday, FDA officials seized 1300 kg of duplicate Mava. The material was bought as barfi and was being used to make the duplicate Mava. It was being stored in 42 bags, weighing 30 kg each. While the authentic Mava costs around Rs 350/kg, the fake sweet was being sold at Rs 120/kg.
FDA team undertaking the raid comprised of Senior FSO Rajiv Korde, FSO Madhav Kavlekar, Atul Dessai, Shruti Pilarnekar and Official Arjun Naik and Sudhakar Parseka
r. Legal action will be initiated against the offenders under the Food Safety and Standard act 2006
