Fest at Miramar beach: Govt to seek HC permission

Matter to be heard on Wednesday

PANAJI

The Goa government on Tuesday told the Bombay High Court at Goa that they will file an application before the High Court for permission to hold the seafood food festival on the Miramar beach.

The statement came as the High Court is hearing a petition filed by former CCP councillor Patricia Pinto and others who pointed out before the High Court an undertaking that the State had given nearly two decades ago that there would be no events held at the Miramar beach.

When confronted with its own undertaking, the State told the High Court that an application along with affidavits will be filed. The matter has now been posted for hearing on Wednesday.
