In compliance with the directions of the Supreme Court, South Collector Ruchika Katyal, who is the Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority, South Goa, has appealed to kin of Covid victims to submit application/claims for availing ex-gratia assistance of Rs 50,000.
The office of the District Collector, South, has so far received 68 claims from the next of kin of the Covid victims. It stated that the claims have been processed and the compensation amount of Rs 50,000 has been deposited in the respective bank accounts of the claimants.
The Collector further informed that her office has obtained the list of beneficiaries, who have availed the ex-gratia assistance of Rs two lakh, from the Social Welfare Department.
Around 564 beneficiaries from the list of Social Welfare Department have been cleared for availing the amount of Rs 50,000. To date, the Collector South has processed and approved 589 cases for a total amount of Rs 2,94,50,00 (Two Crores Ninety Four Lakhs Fifty Thousand Only) to the kin of the Covid victims.
The public has been requested to visit the website southgoa.gov.in or goaonline.gov.in and download the claim form and submit the same to the respective taluka mamlatdars for verification.
