“The term of the private members of the IPB was two years and had expired by the time the final two meetings were held, they were not valid members. There is a clear legal infirmity and the minutes cannot be confirmed. At that time it was not noticed by anyone and the meetings were conducted,” Parrikar said.
He said that while the decisions taken at those two meetings would have to be reviewed, other contentious decisions too would be reviewed.
“There will be scrutiny of other four to five cases as well around which there are question marks.” Parrikar however said that reviewing would not mean it would be cancelled.
He also said that the execution of the approved projects would be reviewed.
The Common Minimum Programme has promised that all cases approved by the Investment Promotion Board would be reviewed to ensure that they are in tune with the State Investment Policy.
“We also want to strengthen the IPB Act so that it becomes a single window,” he said.
