In two heartwarming incidents, Goa Police led by Panaji Deputy Collector and Sub Divisional Magistrate Vivek HP and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Panaji) Deputy Superintendent of Police Uttam Raut Desai offered a helping hand to people in need at the Kadamba Plateau and at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
While in the first case, the police provided a hot meal supplied by Dy Collector Vivek
to a group of over 500 construction workers, in the second case, the police team went out of its way to ensure the safety of a mother and her newborn child.
Speaking to The Goan, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Panaji) Deputy Superintendent of Police Uttam Raut Desai stated, “I have issued clear instructions to all the Police Inspectors and staff members under me to be at the forefront to help people in difficult times like these. We will always try to lead by example.”
FIRST CASE
Lunch to around 500 labourers
The Old Goa Police provided lunch supplied by Dy Collector Vivek to around 500 labour workers, who are presently stranded at the Gera construction site atop Kadamba Plateau. Police Inspector Krishna Sinari and his team were up on their feet upon learning about the plight of the group of workers. “We learnt that food was in short supply and SDM Vivek was extremely kind to provide the food to them. Our team distributed this food to all the 500 workers at the construction site,” DySP RautDesai said.
SECOND CASE
Woman dropped home after delivery
In the second case, the Agacaim Police earned a lot of goodwill with the police staff ensuring that a 25 year-old mother was dropped home safely with her newborn child on Monday morning. Mumtaz Zakir Sheikh was stranded with no money at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim after she was discharged after delivery. Staffers of Agacaim Police offered her a ride back to her home in Verem. The family was overjoyed at having Mumtaz and the baby dropped back safely.
