Finally, Margao fire brigade gets labourers

MARGAO: It’s now over a fortnight since the monsoon had set in the state, but strange it may seem, rnbut true that the Margao fire brigade has finally received labourers from the Margao Municipal Council only on Thursday.

but true that the Margao fire brigade has finally received labourers from the Margao Municipal Council only on Thursday.   
While Civic bodies, including Cuncolim, Quepem, Curchorem had made available labourers to the fire brigade to assist the fire services in times of emergencies during the monsoon.   
When The Goan contacted MMC Chairperson Babita Angle Prabhduesai to shed light on the delay in making available Municipal labourers to the fire brigade, the Chairperson attributed the delay to the absence of a full-fledged Chief officer in the Council.

Discharge of waste water in drains: MMC cracks whip

An agitated Margao Municipal Chairperson Babita Angle Prabhudesai has asked the Urban Health Centre to invoke the provisions of the Public Health Act and seal the premises of the restaurants releasing waste water in the storm water drain near the BSNL office.
