Financial aid given to 8 beneficiaries affected by cyclone in Bicholim

Eight persons from Bicholim taluka who suffered damages to their houses due to the recent Cyclone Tauktae have been given financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant handed over the financial assistance to the eight beneficiaries in the presence of Speaker Rajesh Patnekar, Mayem MLA Pravin Zantye, Deputy Collector Deepak Vaingankar and Mamlatdar Pravinjay Pandit.

Speaking on the occasion, Sawant said financial assistance would be given to all people in the State who suffered losses due to the cyclone.

Sawant also said details of damages to farms is being prepared and assured that the affected farmers would also receive financial assistance.

Appealing to social organisations to come forward to help the needy, the chief minister also said goshalas affected by the cyclone would also receive aid.

Speaker Rajesh Patnekar and MLA Pravin Zantye thanked the chief minister for honouring his promise by providing assistance to the affected families in Bicholim within 10 days of the cyclone.
