With the tenure of Goa University Vice Chancellor Prof Varun Sahani ending in August, the search for the next vice chancellor has begun.
According to sources, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, who is the chancellor at Goa University, has formed a three-member committee to shortlist the next vice chancellor for Goa University.
The three-member committee consists of CSIR Director General Dr Shekhar Mande, former NCERT Director Padmashri Prof Jagmohan Singh Rajput and DRDO President Dr G Satish Reddy
Sources said the committee has been tasked to shortlist five suitable candidates who have worked as professor at a reputed university for a minimum of 10 years, besides other necessary qualifications.
The chancellor will then appoint one of the five shortlisted candidates.
Prof Varun Sahani was appointed as vice-chancellor of Goa University in 2016, after having served as vice-chancellor of Jammu University. He had also worked as professor of International Politics at JNU.
