A fire broke out at a flat cum cloth storeroom at Calangute on Sunday morning.
The estimated loss is said to be approximately Rs 7 lakh. Most items in the flat were destroyed in the fire.
The flat owner said that besides cloth items a washing machine and fridge were also destroyed in the fire. He claimed that the fire was due to a short circuit.
The Pilerne fire officials informed that they were alerted about the fire by the neighbouring flat owner.
It took more than an hour for the fire officials to douse the flames.
"We have managed to save some items but most of the cloth items were destroyed in the fire," a fire official informed.
