A firefighter attached to the Pilerne Fire Section was seriously injured when the car he was driving rammed into a roadside tree at Sirsaim on Thursday noon.
The incident happened at around 12 noon, when the driver, Prakash Ghadi, was travelling from Kasarpal to Mapusa in his vehicle. On the way, he is reported to have been drowsy and lost control of the car.
The vehicle rammed into a roadside tree, seriously injuring Ghadi.
Colvale police and Mapusa fire services team rushed to the spot and removed the victim from the vehicle. He has been admitted at the Mapusa District Hospital. He has a major injury on the leg, and being treated in the hospital.
