Goan fisherman Pele Fernandes has been honoured with the Bharat Social Changemaker Award by the Entrepreneurs Association of India at the Bharat Entrepreneurship Summit in New Delhi on Saturday. The award recognises his work in social upliftment and entrepreneurship.
The award was presented by Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Cabinet Minister for Industries, Food & Supplies, Environment, Forest and Wildlife. He praised Francisco Fernandes Pele for his efforts in community development and grassroots empowerment.
Leaders, innovators and professionals from across India attended the summit, which also featured sessions on entrepreneurship, technology, innovation and networking across industries.
Speaking at the event, Sardar Sirsa said, “Honouring leaders like Francisco Fernandes Pele sets an inspiring example for the next generation of social entrepreneurs who are shaping a more inclusive future for our country.”
The Entrepreneurs Association of India said it remains committed to supporting impactful leadership and recognising excellence through awards such as the Bharat Social Changemaker Award.
