Five booked for illegal touting near Mopa airport

The Tourism Department and the Tourist Police Unit have cracked down on illegal touting near the Manohar International Airport at Mopa. A total of five were booked on Thursday and action was taken.

Details shared by Tourism Department stated that the accused identified as Muddasar Yasin Bepari (22), Ummeasma Mohammad Jahagirdar (34), Siraj Shabbir Ahmed Shadguppi, Rohan Naresh Korgaonkar (36) and Badshah Mabub Khan (37) were allegedly operating unauthorised services and engaging in activities that caused inconvenience to visitors and hindered smooth tourist movement in the area.

"We are ensuring that all tourism-related activities operate within the legal framework. Strict action will continue against unauthorised operators in order to protect the interests of tourists and maintain the integrity of Goa’s tourism sector," an official said warning that such enforcement drives will continue across the main tourism hubs in the State.
