Goa Industrial Development Corporation Chairman and Aldona MLA Glenn Ticlo on Tuesday said the BJP will have to gear up to elect maximum number of seats in the ensuing elections in the State but the focus would be on North Goa.

“After Zilla Panchayat polls, we have the civic elections and then the bigger assembly elections in 2022. We have to have work in the entire State but the main focus will be in North Goa,” Ticlo said.

The Aldona MLA was addressing the BJP karyakartas at the BJP district office in Mapusa while welcoming the newly elected BJP State President Sadanand Tanavade and North Goa District President, Mahanand Asnodkar.

Speaking further, Ticlo said it was the responsibility of the BJP karyakartas to work and ensure that BJP gets maximum number of seats in the elections. Exhorting the workers to work for the party with dedication, North Goa District President Mahanand Asnodkar said he and Tanavade have been elected presidents but will continue to work as sincere karyakartas of the party.

“Our party president, Tanavde, will always be at our service. We need to work hard to bring laurels for the party,” Asnodkar said.

The State BJP President, Tanavade, said most of the karyakartas were enthused that a common man has become the president of the party. “Now, the karyakartas have the confidence that if you work with sincerity and dedication anyone can rise up the party ladder,” Tanavade said.

He said he will try and bring ministers to the party office at least once in a month to listen to the grievances of the partymen.

Several BJP mandal presidents from Bardez, Mapusa Chairperson, Ryan Braganza and councillors of Mapusa Municipal Council were present at the function.
