Katherine Frances Wolfe who was allegedly forced to pay up an exorbitant Rs 4,000 for the mere use of a wheelchair at the Dabolim Airport earlier in January has called it out as "extortion" in a complaint to the authorities.
Wolfe, who is 62 years and is differently-abled, was flying out of Goa on January 29 has alleged that two airport staffers forced her to pay Rs 4,000 for the wheelchair facility.
She has described the person assisting her by pushing the wheelchair as a "slim guy" wearing a black t-shirt and another person pushing the trolley with her suitcase as slightly stout.
Wolfe said when she handed out a Rs 500 bill, the duo said 'it is not enough' and humiliated her.
They also 'intimidated' her and forced her to cough up Rs 4,000 for the service. She later took her flight out of Dabolim for Gatwick, England.
Wolfe has made a complaint to the airport authorities describing the incident after reaching her destination.
