Four booked for knife attack in Old Goa after football match

PANAJI

 Old Goa police have booked four persons for allegedly attacking and injuring two persons following a dispute linked to a football match at the Old Goa Panchayat ground on August 15.

According to players, a dispute broke out between two groups during a football match on Saturday morning. The referee intervened and managed to settle the matter.

However, later in the evening, supporters of one of the teams allegedly confronted members of the rival group, leading to another altercation during which two persons were attacked with a knife.

Both sustained injuries. While one suffered a minor injury to his hand, the other sustained a serious injury to his lower back near the waist.

Old Goa police have registered a case against four persons in connection with the incident and are investigating further.
