Fr Bolmax case and Velingkar incident not similar: Viriato

MARGAO

There’s absolutely no link between the Fr Bolmax Pereira case and the Subhash Velingkar incident, South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes said on Wednesday.

Expressing shock and surprise that the Chief Minister has tried to link the Fr Bolmax and Velingkar cases, he said, “The CM is absolutely wrong. In the case of Fr Bolmax, he was never arrested, and the court had dismissed the case. If one goes by the order of the North Goa Sessions Court rejecting Velingkar’s bail plea, it clearly shows that Velingkar made certain remarks intentionally.”

He added, “When some accused Fr Bolmax Pereira of certain utterances, there was no arrest warrant. Those who came to Vasco and created noise demanding an FIR were all seen at the CM’s chamber at 4 pm before going to Vasco.”

“I’m on record to state they were all seen in the CM’s chamber. This only goes to show that the CM was presiding over everything,” he stated.
