GPCC Vice President Sankalp Amonkar on Monday said he had full faith in the judiciary and that justice would prevail over the recent reservations declared for the upcoming civic polls.
Amonkar told reporters that though he had decided to field 33% women candidates in Mormugao constituency, the Congress had approached the court against the reservations for the larger benefit of the State.
"The good news is that Shradda Amonkar and Shanti Mandrekar had filed petitions against the reservations and nine petitions against the reservations have been admitted in the high court.”
“The court has sent notices to the election commission and State government to submit their reply by February 22. The final hearing for disposal of the case will be held on February 23. We have full faith in the judiciary and we are sure that justice shall prevail," said Amonkar.
