Addressing the BJP public meeting at Mollem in Sanvordem constituency, Gadkari has appealed to the people to vote for a stable government and the government which can undertake development.
“Some politicians feel that no party will get majority and hence they will be in demand. They think that Congress will get 17 and BJP will get 18 seats and these parties will need their support,” said Gadkari.
“Then grabbing the opportunity, they will negotiate for the post of chief minister with their two or three seats, after forming an alliance. I feel they should stop dreaming Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne. Their dreams will never come true,” Gadkari said withobvious reference to the MGP and its leaders.
Terming the five-year term of Goa BJP government was just a “trailor,” he said the film was yet to start. “Compare our five-year term with that of the Congress regime who ruled for several years. You will find BJP has done a lot of development in the last five years,” he said.
Gadkari added that in 2014, the national highway in the State was about 260 kms long. “But after our government came to power at the Centre, it has gone up to 600 kms.”
“What the Congress couldn’t do in 50 years in the areas of roads, we did it in just two-and-half years. We have started work of concrete roads (four laning) from Mumbai to Panaji and will also take up the work of Panaji-Bangalore road,” he added.
“Those who will have to lose their business establishments for the four lane road, we will compensate them through rehabilitation of their businesses,” he assured.
“Only BJP can fulfill your dreams. Hence, vote for a stable government,” Gadkari appealed to the gathered people.
In his speech, Sanvordem BJP MLA Ganesh Gaonkar assured his voters to undertake the overall development of the constituency.
ZP member Suvarna Tendulkar, Collem-Shigao Sarpanch Kiran Mhamlekar, Sanvordem Sarpanch Deepak Sawant, Mollem Sarpanch Kalpna Mayenkar, Sanvordem BJP Block president Ganpat Naik and others were present.
