Stating that garbage is not a problem only of the government, but also of citizens, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar sought cooperation from everyone to keep the State clean.
"The problem of garbage is not of one person alone or of the government. It is the problem of all Goans," he said.
Parrikar was speaking after launching the services of regular cleaning of the road from Miramar Circle to Dona Paula Circle under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of CAM Industrial Services LLP at Miramar. Through this initiative, the company has agreed to keep the road clean for a period of one year.
Stating that cooperation of citizens in keeping the surroundings clean was necessary, Parrikar said that such initiative could be replicated in other parts of the cities.
Speaking on the occasion, EDC Chairman Sidharth Kuncalienker stressed on the significance of the Miramar-Dona Paula road calling it a key link road to the city. "It is a place frequented by those who go on walks and jog. There are schools and institutions located here as well," he said.
Nearly 15 workers have been employed by CAM Industrial Services LLP who will work towards keeping this stretch of the road clean.
