According to sources, the decision to conduct inspection was taken after GCZMA had heard both the parties, the complainant and the representatives of the fishermen of Colomb-Canacona.
Sources pointed out that a resort, who purchased the property at Colomb in Nagarcem-Palolem coast has been fighting in the NGT since 2007 for encroachment of their property in violation of CRZ, informed that over 300 illegal structures have come up within 200 metres of HTL CRZ-III areas.
After hearing some 13 natives having traditional coastal residents of Colomb-Palolem made party by the complainant late Tuesday night, the GCZMA decided to inspect the coast for the alleged encroachments on Thursday.
Sources informed that there are about 80 residential structures of the fishermen community existing since their forefathers, out of which about 70 households are fighting Mundkarial rights in
the court of law for the last several years.
