MARGAO: Goa Forward Party on Sunday welcomed ex-NCP youth wing chief Yuri Alemao into the party fold.
In his brief address, Yuri said that he has decided to join GFP to give justice to the people of Cuncolim. “Cuncolim has not seen development over the last one year. I am confident that Vijai Sardesai will address the issues of Cuncolim,” he said.
While demanding that the government include the 1583 Cuncolim revolt in the school textbooks, he also demanded that the government cap the polluting fish meal at the Cuncolim Industrial Estate and address the concerns of people on the controversial bypass.
Vijai assured the people that GFP will do justice to Cuncolim constituency. “Taking the development forward in Cuncolim is the responsibility of the Goa Forward from today. All our ministers will come to the office in Cuncolim to take up development works,” he assured. GFP Ministers, Jayesh Salgaokar and Vinoda Paliencar, besides former two-time MLA Joaquim Alemao, were amongst those who addressed the meeting.
