Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai on Sunday said that Team Goa must be strengthened in 2021, as it is the time to unite and prepare to defeat Team BJP in 2022.
Saying that year 2021 should be Goa’s year of unity, the Goa Forward chief said, “We should bring together our strengths and determination to save Goa from the current anti-Goan government of the BJP.”
Speaking to the media, the GFP chief highlighted his growing call to all Goans and political opponents of the BJP to unite under the party’s campaign of #TeamGoa and #SaveGoaNow. “From Mollem to Mhadei, to beef, to tourism and to Covid-19 “ we must unite to remove this insensitive government from power and put forward the people’s true representatives for the betterment and future of Goa,” he added.
Recalling the party’s New Year message that it would dedicate its actions and responsibilities to the youth of Goa, Sardesai said that 2021 would be known as the ‘Year of Goan Youth’, a year aimed at promoting, supporting, and defending Goa’s future generation to achieve and accomplish their desires, and ambitions.
He made known that “the ‘Year of Goan Youth 2021’ would look to involve and bring together all Goans to make this 2021 a year of hope and unity to Save Goa Now as one Team Goa”
The Goa Forward President also pointed out that Team Goa is set up to protect and benefit the future of Goa’s youth. “Goan youth have the aspirations to achieve great things, and to make Goa an international hub of sustainability and innovation, but to make sure they have the opportunity to do this - we must collectively unite to ensure our children, the generation next has the possibilities and opportunities they dream of for the future,” he added.
Sardesai further said, “Everyone in Goa wants to drive the issues on their own, but all of us are saying the same things, as we are all aligned on the same problems of the state. We all need to take a step forward, I have taken the first step, and have extended my arms calling on the political opponents of the BJP to unite to Save Goa Now. We can and must unite and strengthen Team Goa in 2021 to defeat Team BJP in 2022.”
Commenting on the rising cases of Covid-19 , he said, “We have been saying since the ZP elections that we will witness a massive spike in the cases, and now the government is telling be careful.”
Calling for the postponement of the current schedule of offline exams, he again demanded to know how can the government even have the heart to continue with offline exams in the midst of a rising number of cases as predicted by the Health Minister, while the rest of the country, including the CBSE, is postponing offline exams.
