Ghodemodni performed in Bicholim
BICHOLIM: The famous folk dance, Ghodemodni, was organised at Bordem-Bicholim on Saturday, to mark the Shigmotsv celebration.
Ghodemodni is an important form of warrior folk dance performed during Shigmo in Bicholim. It reflects the rich tradition of warfare inherited by the Maratha community who migrated from the Ghat region with horses, swords and better techniques of warfare.
During Ghodemodni, each character from Ravalnathkar, Madwal, Saterkar and Mahamayakar group performs this folk dance in the wardrobe of horse wearing white clothes and takes five rounds from Wadakade to Shantadurga High School circle.
