Security guards of the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC) reunited a three-year-old boy with his family, after he was found near North Goa District hospital in Mapusa on Tuesday morning.
A senior officer of GHRDC said the boy was found near the parking lot of Asilo North Goa District hospital, Mapusa at about 11.30 am by GHRDC security guard Navnath Gawas.
Noticing the child unattended, Gawas took took the child in his possession and made enquiries with people around the parking lot, but there was no response.
Gawas then reported the matter to his Assistant Supervisor Mahadeo Arolkar and Supervisor Laximidhar Naik. They, in turn, contacted Senior Security Officer Vijay Gawas and Public Relations Officer of District Hospital and Casualty Police deployed at the District hospital.
This was followed by an announcement in all OPDs and wards of the hospital. After about 30 minutes, a couple approached them claiming the child. After due verification, the child was handed over to the parents and they thanked GHRDC staff for finding their son and reuniting him with the family.
