PANAJI
Ginger, a brand owned by The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), has completely repositioned its hotel in Patto, Panaji. The senior management team of IHCL and Ginger was in Goa for the launch of the newly re-imagined Ginger Hotel.
Deepika Rao, managing director and CEO, Ginger said, “We had to evolve the brand depending upon the changing trends in the market. If you look at the property now, everything has an attitude. There are many instagrammable moments at the hotel itself. The idea is to offer great experience to our customers at an affordable price.”
Ginger positions itself in the lean luxury segment, as it aimed at mid-level executives and families travelling to Goa. For such a clientele, affordability is a huge factor. The newly repositioned Ginger has a gym, play area for kids and also an all-day diner called ‘Café Et Cetera’.
The redesigned spaces are aimed to bring together attractive public areas as well as spots designed for solitude. Ginger Panaji is a 132-room property.
Puneet Chhatwal, managing director and CEO, IHCL, said, “The Ginger brand journey is aligned to Aspiration 2022 that defines a brandscape that addresses diverse customer segments and price points. It will be an important growth vehicle for the company and we are looking at quickly scaling up the brand to a large number of hotels across
India.”
Currently, there are two properties under Ginger brand in Goa “ one in Panaji and the other in Dona Paula. Rao informed that plans are on to have third Ginger Hotel for the state of Goa in
Margao.
