A team of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders from Goa, led by Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas, has reached Gujarat to support the party’s campaign for the ongoing local body elections there.
Viegas and his team were seen canvassing for AAP candidate Adv Sunil Gamit at Maypur under Zilla Panchayat Borakhdi.
Viegas interacted with locals, held small meetings, and appealed for support in the upcoming polls. The Goa contingent’s presence was aimed at strengthening AAP’s grassroots connect in Gujarat, where the party has five legislators and is seeking to expand its footprint through the lo.
The campaign focused on issues of local governance and accountability, with Viegas stressing the need for clean politics and people-centric development.
He told residents that AAP’s model of transparent administration and welfare schemes had gained traction in Delhi and Punjab, and could benefit
Gujarat as well.
AAP leaders in Goa said the move reflects the party’s commitment to building a national presence by supporting candidates in different States.
