A dry run exercise on fog preparedness and low-visibility management was conducted at Goa International Airport at Dabolim to strengthen operational readiness and coordination among various stakeholders during fog-related disruptions.

The exercise was carried out with the participation of both internal and external stakeholders, with the objective of enhancing operational efficiency, improving coordination, and ensuring maximum passenger comfort during periods of reduced visibility caused by fog.

Officials said the drill focused on standard operating procedures to be followed during fog conditions, timely communication among agencies, and effective coordination to minimise disruption to flight operations and passenger inconvenience.

Emphasis was also laid on preparedness measures to ensure smooth handling of arrivals and departures under low-visibility conditions.

All participating stakeholders actively took part in the exercise and demonstrated readiness and proactiveness in dealing with fog-related challenges.

Airport authorities said such preparedness exercises play a crucial role in ensuring safety and efficiency, particularly during weather-related disruptions.

The exercise is expected to help all stakeholders respond swiftly and in a coordinated manner during actual fog conditions, thereby reducing delays and ensuring passenger safety and comfort.
