Goa leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be camping in Maharashtra to campaign for the saffron party’s candidates for the October 21 assembly elections in the neighbouring State. All 288 constituencies will be going to polling in Maharastra on October 21 in a single phase and campaigning is steadily gaining momentum.
BJP Organising Secretary Satish Dhond is already camping in Maharashtra and has been given specific responsibilities of the election campaign.
Dhond had earlier been drafted and had worked for a couple of years in the BJP organisational set up in Maharashtra, before he returned to Goa in the midst of the crisis due to the illness of the late
Manohar Parrikar.
“Satish Dhond is already in Maharashtra. Our other leaders will also go”, said BJP general Secretary Sadanand Tanawade.
“The schedule of each Goa leader will be decided in a meeting of BJP leaders which will be attended by 150 members in Panaji on Monday”, said Tanawade.
It is certain that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, MLAs, the state President Vinal Tendulkar, and other leaders like Damu Naik, Govind Parvatkar and Vishwas Satarkar will go to Maharastra for election campaigning, Tanawade said.
