It's D-Day for 24,484 class X students on Monday with the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education set to announce the results of their academic career's first benchmark public examination -- the Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
The Board has fixed 5 pm on Monday for the declaration of the results.
As many as 23,967 regular students were enrolled to take the examination which, however, was cancelled due to the deadly second wave of Covid-19 infections in April, May and June. Another 517 students had registered as 'repeaters'.
With examinations not held, the GBS&HSE came up with a multi-pronged and objective module for tabulating subject-wise marks derived from scores of students in internal tests held throughtout the year as also partly on their performance the previous year in Class IX.
The Board has also assured students who will not be satisfied with their scores in their final marksheet, an opportunity to answer the exam in physical mode at a date when it is feasible to do so.
