Sahakari was discussing various issues in a bid to boost profits at its annual general body meeting on Wednesday. The meeting chaired by Sahakari was attended by directors and members.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, Sahakari said the meeting was conducted in a peaceful manner. “We listened to the grievances of our members and we will work towards addressing the issues raised by them,” he said.
According to Sahakari, Goa Dairy has achieved a turnover of Rs 159 crore this fiscal year. “Out of this, we made a profit of Rs 1.62 crore,” he informed.
Sahakari said some members had raised the issue of SUMUL entry in Goa and farmers leaving Goa Dairy.
“We are not opposed to SUMUL if it does business by creating its own infrastructure. It should not take away our farmers,” he said.
