Goa Forward complains to ECI, seeks transfer of Fatorda PI

PANAJI
The Goa Forward Party has written to the Election Commission of India (ECI) demanding the transfer of Police Inspector Kapil Nayak from Fatorda police station, after accusing him of being biased and working under the pressure of the State government.

“Goa Forward Party on Friday faxed to the ECI and has demanded his transfer to avoid law and order issues in Fatorda area,” said Durgadas Kamat, Goa Forward General Secretary (Organisation).

There were altercations between PI Kapil Nayak and Goa Forward President Vijai Sardesai over the issue of clearing the road, during a protest by the Goa Forward after accusing BJP General Secretary Damodar Naik of blocking development work in Fatorda.

Addressing a news conference in Panaji, Kamat claimed there were earlier instances to prove that PI Nayak has gone overboard against some priests and had also lodged a false complaint against an elderly priest of having assaulted him.

“The BJP social media team has also projected a false impression about the so-called harassment caused to the public due to closure of roads. Videos of Vijai Sardesai clearing the traffic were not shown, only selective portions were shown to the public,” said Kamat.
