Asked for his take on the party’s choice between BJP and Congress, Vijai said the party has really not much choice, with one party being labelled as a communal party, while the Congress in Goa is suspected to be having links with organisations with the RSS.
“That State Congress president Luizinho Faleiro has said that the Congress is not opposed to have a tie-up with MGP and the RSS-backed Goa Suraksha Manch shows there’s some understanding between the BJP and the Congress leadership. This was also suspected by party leaders, including a spokesman, when he had accused the party leadership for ‘fixing’ with the ruling party,” he said.
Sardesai pointed out that if the GFP wins a couple of seats in the election, the party will treat it as a mandate for Goem, Goemkar and Goemkarponn.
“We will continue to pursue our objective of Goemkarponn come what may. If the national parties want our support, let them unveil their stand on this issue as well as their take on the common minimum programme,” he asserted.
