Knowing the possibilities that the assembly election results can reflect in the celebrations, the police have taken measures and have requested for extra force to maintain law and order.  According to some politicians and locals, tension could flare up in Shiroda and Priol constituencies after election results are declared.
Locals from Shiroda informed that about 12 ‘mell’ (groups from various areas) visit Shivanathi temple in Shiroda to celebrate ‘Chaturdas’, while over 20 ‘mell’ from Priol constituency visit Shree Mahalsa temple for celebrations. The supporters of winners and losers, who will be part of these groups, could create a problem. In a recent gram sabha, Veling-Priol-Cuncoliem sarpanch, Damodar Naik had appealed to the villagers to maintain peace during ‘Chaturdas’.
“Forget all differences that had taken place during last assembly election. Whoever wins the poll, it should not reflect adversely on our celebrations,” Naik had said.  Priol witnessed a close fight between MGP’S Deepak Dhavalikar and independent Govind Gaude, who is supported by BJP, while it has been equally intense between Mahadev Naik and Subhash Shirodkar in Shiroda.
