St Anthony's Sports Club, Marna-Siolim prevailed over Varca Sports Club 5-4 via tie-breaker to enter the quarter-finals of All Goa Gold and Silver Rolling Trophy inter-village football tournament organized by Navelim Sporting Club at Rosary Grounds, Navelim on Sunday. St Anthony's Sports Club led 1-0 at the break.
St Anthony's Sports Club started the game in a whirlwind fashion and took the lead in the 21st minute through the boots of Maclino Mascarenhas. After resumption, St Anthony's continued to enjoy better ball possession but their forwards wasted good chances from striking range. Varca made a desperate attempt and neutralized the lead through Reuben D'Souza. In the ensuing tie-breaker - Sherwin Lobo, Francis Fernandes, Glen Fernandes and Raghu Shirodkar scored for St Anthony’s while Salman Fernandes, Daniel Fernandes and Succoro Fernandes converted for Varca.
