The issue was discussed at Veling-Priol-Cuncoliem gram sabha on Sunday. as hundreds of people gather for ‘Chaturdas’ festival in the village.
“Forget all the differences that happened during the last assembly election. Whoever wins the election, it should not reflect adversely on our celebrations, which will take place at Shree Mahalsa temple,” Naik appealed.
Villagers informed that on Chaturdas day, people from across Priol constituency visit Shree Mahalasa temple and participate in celebrations and hence there are chances that election results would reflect on it.
Naik said he has already met police officials and made them aware of the situation. “We have requested for deployment of maximum number of police personnel at the celebration site to maintain law and order. But still I request you all to maintain peace.” he said.
There was neck-to-neck fight between MGP candidate Deepak Dhavalikar and Independent candidate Govind Gawade, supported by BJP. Supporters of both the candidates were involved in tussles during pre-voting.
