The women as well as the TCP Minister demanded whether the accused was seen anywhere near a school at Navelim, asserting that safety of the girl child is of paramount importance.
The TCP Minister appeared baffled that the person came all the way from Orlim to find out the address of the Fatorda police station. "I find it little surprising that a man from Orlim comes near my office to find out the location of the Fatorda police station before allegedly passing lewd remarks against the women," he said
.
"In the recent past, someone had come to the Fatorda police station to create sensationalism. I do not know why this man from Orlim came near my office which is now functioning as an activity centre for the women of Fatorda," he said, while demanding a thorough investigations into the episode.
"Your know that Fatorda is not new to strange news. Someone came from outside the police station jurisdiction to lodge a complaint. Now, this man comes all the way from Orlim to find out the police station address. Let the police go to the depth of the case," Vijai said.
Margao Municipal Chairperson Babita Angle Prabhudesai along with women owning allegiance to the Goa Forward party descended at the Fatorda police station on Sunday morning to demand thorough investigations into the case.
"I find the entire episode little bit suspicions. Let the police find out whether there was any political hand behind the incident. I would like to however, send a strong message that we are totally for the safety and security of the women of Fatorda. We women are capable to taking care of ourselves," Babita said, while asserting that the Goa Forward will not tolerate any such incidents in the future.
She also demanded that the Fatorda police find out whether he was at any time found near a school at Navelim, while demanding safety of the school children.
