PANAJI
Rains continued in Goa with the reporting stations at Panaji and Margao recording 10 cms of rainfall and the Meteorological Department further forecasting light to moderate rainfall on Friday as well.
A cyclonic circulation over the Arabian sea off the coast of South Gujarat and North Konkan is the cause of the continuing rains, the Met Department said, adding that short intense spells and winds of a speed of up to 40 km per hour are also very likely.
The influence of this system in the Arabian sea on Goa's weather is likely to wane from December 3 onwards, the IMD press release said.
Meanwhile, Ela (Old Goa) recorded nine centimetres of rain and the stations at Canacona-Mormugao-Dabolim recorded six centimetres each.
With rains on Wednesday and Thursday, Goa has experienced the rare phenomenon of rainfall in each of the twelve months this year.
