Tata Teleservices is very soon going to launch a school bus tracking system in Goa. Thanks to this system, people will get a SMS about when the school bus will reach to pick up their kids and they will also get a SMS when bus picks up their kids from school.

This was revealed at a press conference called for by Tata Teleservices today. Sourabh Sharma, vice president business to business (B2B), enterprise “ West India, Tata Teleservices, said, “We will give a presentation to managements of various schools in Goa. We are looking at first quarter of financial year 2016-17 for the launch of this system”.

Goa has emerged as a huge market for Tata Teleservices’s enterprise systems. In simple words, enterprise systems are various systems based on telecom and internet which companies use to track their production, customers’ experience and workforce productivity.

Sharma continued, “We have 1,000 plus business customers in Goa including top names like Paulo Travels, Cidade de Goa and Putzmeister. Besides, we provide internet to many companies in industrial estates of Goa”.

While private telecom players have made huge strides in Goa in retail market, unfortunately, the same isn’t the case with enterprises market, wherein companies have to mostly rely on internet provided by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.

Tata Teleservices is the only major private player, which is providing internet to companies in Goa. This is crucial to the industrial sector of the state. Most companies in Goa are in the bracket of small-and-medium-enterprises (SMEs).

SMEs represent more than 96% of the total enterprise segment in Goa, provide 77.6 % of the total employment, and contribute to 10% of Goa’s exports.

Sharma also highlighted that Tata Teleservices registered 16% year-on-year growth vis-à-vis 5% industry growth in enterprise business segment in FY 2015 in India.
