Taking serious note of Karnataka’s move to restart the work of the Kalsa Bhandura canal, a Goa team will visit Kankumbi village on Saturday.
It may be recalled that Karnataka has restarted the work of the Kalsa Bhandura canal to divert 7 TMC water to Karnataka after a gap of about one year. Environmentalist Rajendra Kerkar had informed that the work was inspected by an official.
Speaking to reporters, an official said a Goa team will visit Kankumbi village on Saturday and prepare a detailed report of the work undertaken by Karnataka and it will be submitted to the Mhadei Water Disputes Tribunal (MWDT).
The Additional Attorney General of Goa Adv Dattaprasad Lawande said: “The report will help the Goa government to make the case strong at the hearing in March.”
