Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai Regional Director Amit Ghawate on Friday said the bureau has a goal to destroy the racket of large-scale drug trafficking in Goa.
Ghawate was speaking to reporters during a visit to the Goa office after taking over as Regional Director of the Mumbai Regional Division.
“We seek the cooperation of the people of Goa to thwart the drug racket. Citizens should contact us if they have any information regarding drugs. For this, people can contact [email protected] by email or call on 08322412030,” Ghawate appealed.
Ghawate, a 2008 Revenue Service (IRS) officer, was in charge of the Bangalore and Chennai areas of the NCB.
At present, Goa is included in the Mumbai Regional Division of NCB and efforts are being made to give full regional status to Goa and the Union Home Ministry is believed to have started the process in this regard.
