Goan architect Piyush Gaus Desai, an international metropolitan fellow awardee town planner from Farmagudi Ponda has been invited by ‘The Russia-BRICS Project Office for International Youth Cooperation’ to participate in the BRICS Youth Summit to be held from August 1-6 at Ulyanovsk region in Russia. The summit will see the participation of youth from Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa. Sustainable development, effective remedies for cleaning natural regions and sustainable entrepreneurship are the topics that would be discussed. The Ulyanovsk region (Russia) will host BRICS International Youth Camp. The goal of the camp is to involve experts, youth leaders, and organisations from the BRICS countries in promoting sustainable development of the BRICS countries' regions and facilitating youth cooperation within five countries. Ecology and sustainable development are the main themes of the Camp this year. The Camp's programme will include project sessions upon the results of which young representatives of Russia, Brazil, India, China, and South Africa will propose initiatives aimed at sustainable development of the Ulyanovsk region and practical measures for cleaning of natural areas and passing of eco-trails etc will be discussed. A total of 60 young citizens of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa will take part in the Camp which will be held in English.
