Goan Konkani film “Claudia”, written, produced and directed by Rajendra Talak, will be screened under the Indian Panorama – Special Presentation Section at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held in Goa from 20-28 November 2025.

Written, produced, and directed by Rajendra Talak, with dialogues by Shri Bhai (Damodar) Mauzo, recreated music by Ashok Patki, cinematography by Deep Sawant, costumes by Priyanka Talak, and editing by Vardhan Dhaimodkar, "Claudia" is a heartfelt story about a family bound by their love for music, where tradition and passion run deep.

Talak informed that Tony Fernandes, a renowned saxophone player, has dedicated his life to music, but one day, he is struck by the devastating realization that he can no longer play his beloved instrument. “As the music fades from his world, Tony is left to grapple with the emotional and physical toll of losing his ability to express himself through the saxophone. His daughter, Claudia, stands by him, doing everything in her power to ease his suffering and help him rediscover his love for life. Supported by Chris, a fellow music lover and close friend, and their caring neighbors, Claudia becomes her father's anchor, even as she herself struggles with feelings of helplessness and uncertainty”, he said.

He added: “The story delicately explores themes of loss, resilience, and the healing power of music, as Claudia navigates the delicate balance between helping her father and confronting her own fears about the future. It’s a poignant tale of family, love, and the unspoken connections that keep us going even in our darkest moments”.

This marks Rajendra Talak’s eighth Konkani film. Remarkably, all his films so far have been screened either in the Indian Panorama or premiered at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

Till date, Rajendra Talak has produced nine Konkani films. His film Aleesha won Goa’s first National Award, while Antarnad received five National Awards. He has also received Goa State Film Awards for all his films. His notable works include Aleesha, Antarnad, Saawariya.com, O Maria, A Rainy Day, Miranda House, and the telefilm Shittu.

His bilingual Marathi films — Savalee, A Rainy Day, Saawariya.com, and Miranda House — have also won Maharashtra State Film Awards.

The film O Maria created history in Goa by celebrating a Silver Jubilee in Margao and Panjim, running successfully for 25 weeks.
