Goan named on panel to draft National Coop Policy Document

Chairman of Deendayal Multipurpose Cooperative Society (Bicholim) Vallabh Salkar has been appointed as member of National Level Committee for drafting the New National Cooperation Policy Document, formed by Ministry of Cooperation New Delhi.

The 47-member National Level committee has been formed under the chairmanship of ex-union minister Suresh Prabhu and it comprises experts of the cooperative sector, including representatives of top institutions and organisations like RBI Director, Director IRMA, IIM Ahmedabad, Chairman-IFFCO, Chairman NAFCUB, MD of NCCF and other National as well as state level cooperative organisations.

Salkar is the lone representative from Goa and among the few from the cooperative field across India.

The committee shall be responsible for drafting the National Cooperation Policy Document in line with the co-operative principles to provide an enabling framework to realise the vision of ‘Sahakar se Samriddhi’, strengthen the cooperative movement in the country and promote cooperative based economic development model.

The Management of Deendayal Multipurpose Cooperative Society has thanked the Ministry of Cooperation for recognising the good work done by Deendayal Multipurpose Cooperative Society and reposing trust in the Society by appointing its Chairman Shri Vallabh Salkar in this prestigious committee, which will be responsible to draft the New National Policy Document and will positively impact lives of crores of families across India.
