Stating that Goans were seeing AAP as the only alternative for clean politics in the State, Aam Admi Party (AAP) National Spokesperson Atishi on Friday said AAP is determined to change Goan politics and bring about a change in the lives of Goans.
She was speaking to reporters on her arrival at Dabolim airport, where she was welcomed by AAP Goa Vice President Pratima Coutinho, Sandesh Telekar and other leaders.
Atishi is in the State to participate in the “Let’s Clean Goa Politics” campaign, which will conclude on Saturday.
“I think as far as politics in Goa is concerned, there is only one party because the Congress and BJP are one party. We have MLAs elected from one party going to the other party in wholesale. There are cases when a bulk of Congress MLAs have gone to the ruling BJP party to help them form the government and this is what is happening in Goa.”
“Goans are tired of this politics and are looking for a change towards clean politics. Goans are now seeing AAP as the only alternative for clean politics and that is why we are here,” said Atishi.
“The AAP is determined to do more than just open an account in Goa and is in Goa to change Goan politics and to bring about a change in the lives of Goans.”
Atishi said July 10 is a significant day when the 10 people who were elected to oppose the BJP instead joined the BJP and helped them form the government, betraying the mandate of the voters.
“The Goans disagree with this and they are looking for clean politics which will work for their benefits. All leaders of AAP will come to Goa to meet Goans and build the organisation here and enable to form the AAP government in Goa,” said Atishi.
AAP Goa Vice President Pratima Coutinho said the AAP had begun a campaign to clean Goan politics on July 3.
“Atishi is here to conclude the campaign on Saturday. The BJP was more than happy to accept these political traitors and betrayers. People have realised that BJP and Congress are two sides of the same coin.”
“We have launched this campaign to teach these betrayers a lesson,” said Coutinho.
